Sportsbook bonus guide

A bonus bet is not free cash.

Understand qualifying bets, minimum odds, expiry windows, and whether the promotional stake is returned.

Separate cash from promotional credit

Bonus bets generally cannot be withdrawn as cash. A winning bonus bet may pay only the winnings, excluding the original promotional stake. Rules differ by operator, so read the precise terms rather than relying on the word “free.”

Follow the qualifying steps

A welcome offer may require registration in an eligible state, an opt-in, a qualifying deposit or bet, and minimum odds. Settled bets may count differently from cashed-out or voided bets. Completing one step does not necessarily complete the promotion.

  • Check account and location eligibility.
  • Read minimum odds and qualifying market restrictions.
  • Confirm whether a cash-out or voided bet qualifies.
  • Find the expiry time and promotional stake-return rule.

Do the odds example carefully

At decimal odds of 3.00, a winning $10 cash bet returns $30 including the stake. A $10 bonus bet at those odds could instead pay $20 if its stake is not returned. That example explains the rule; it is not a live offer or a forecast of winnings.

Skip an offer when it does not fit

Never increase spending to unlock a promotion. If the terms encourage bets you would not otherwise make, declining the offer can be the simpler choice. We have not independently verified live welcome promotions on the shortlist.

Your best move? Knowing when to stop.

Set a budget. Take a break. Never chase a loss. Gambling should stay entertainment, not become a financial plan.
