State rules define access
There is no single nationwide mobile sports-betting license. States decide whether to authorize wagering and whether it is available online, in person, or both. A brand operating in one state may not be licensed in another.
Location matters when you bet
Regulated sportsbooks use geolocation to check physical presence. Living in an eligible state does not permit wagering while traveling outside its approved area. Do not use a VPN or another tool to bypass these checks.
Use the regulator’s register
Find your state’s gaming regulator and check its list of authorized sportsbooks. Confirm the legal age and any restrictions on college sports or individual player props. Advertising is not a substitute for a license check.
- Verify mobile sports wagering is allowed where you are.
- Match the operator’s legal entity to the public register.
- Check account, age and identity requirements.
- Read restricted sports and market categories.
When access is not permitted
Do not assume an offshore site is authorized because it accepts your registration. You can follow sports without betting. State laws change, so rely on current regulator information rather than an old guide or social-media claim.
